The textures of grief
observing states of change and inner resonances
The English language has very few words to describe loss and its effects. This has made we wonder whether our inability to process the range of what there is to feel when a loss occurs is because we lack the necessary words to give describe what we experience when it shape shifts, dissolves or meanders back.
A friend helpfully has mentioned how she has come to think of grief as an energy. I have an idea that maybe we can get somewhere by imaging grief as a texture.
This craft will facilitate that idea as an observational state, and then will encourage you to pay attention to the textures you encounter that speak to you and see if they can help express feelings you have but don’t have words for.
Step one: go here
Step two: choose three that make you feel something.

Step three: Take pictures of the textures of change you encounter in the world.

but how did I so immediately find a texture that felt like my grief? (they didn't all feel right, just a few.) I'm intrigued.
